Dehesa Charter School's K-3 Montessori Learning Center opened in fall of 2009 in Escondido, CA. Community Montessori is a program of DCS that integrates the Montessori philosophy within the accountability and framework of the California State standards.
The Montessori Method is an integrated approach to education that takes into account individual variations in a child’s development and focuses on educating the whole child. Essential elements to the educational process are parental involvement, careful observation of each child's academic growth, and program choices that accommodate varied tempo, tone, melody, rhythm, and harmony. This composition of diverse elements is harnessed to a single purpose:
a symphony of learning.
